Shine and Show at Bullwinkle’s |
|||
|
The Sunday afternoon
friendly shine and show was a big hit.
Nineteen cars from our club plus a few extra “drop-in’s”
provided a nice little car show. Margaret
McDowell was the show’s Chief Judge. The categories were
different from a regular concours show.
Beside representative age groupings of Jaguars from 1962 to 1974,
1975 to 1996 and 1997 to 2008, two additional classifications were
created to display member cars that do not receive the same exposure as
the regulars in the Club. The
first new class was Jaguar “Cousin” (a phrase coined by Paul Ridley)
for the “other” car in our Jaguar Families.
The other new class was “Modified” for cars who’s owner
have decided to re-engineer their cars, hopefully for the betterment of
the car ie. How it should have been the first time around or here’s
just a better idea, concept type presentation. |

The line-up included several Panatera’s, a Ferrari Spider, and several true Jaguar cousins (Paul Ridley’s recently acquired TR-4 and Buck Buchanan’s, also new 1986 Lotus Esprit). | ||
| Bruce Audino’s Corvette powered 1983 XJS was the public’s favorite, winning Best of Show. | ![]() |

Millennium Motor’s
provided
the latest in the Jaguar Line. Bullwinkle’s Pub in Plano provided sixteen (16) beautiful trophies which were displayed and present at the First Tuesday Meeting August 5th. Due to the success of this show, most likely get-togethers will be happening in the future.
