JOASW members couldn't ask for a more perfect evening for the Progressive
Dinner/Mini-Rallye and
Super Jaguar Facts Quiz. 32 members gathered first at the absolutely striking naturalist home of the Heber's, treated to pate' and appetizers, introducing the evenings events, including the
Mini-Rallye map, a new Club logo and presentation of the first Club golf shirt to
designer, Jack Fortenberry - a new beginning for the Club incorporating Jaguar / Texas heraldry.
A circuitous routing of members through the Preston Hollow environs was extremely beautiful with a wicked circle among the stately mansions and gardens leading to the second destination, the amazingly urban,
sophisticated, yet secluded deck house of the Smith's, in Bluff View, designed by our own Dave McDowell. The dinner was without parallel and thoroughly enjoyed on the decks, living rooms and the pool, especially by Shelly Shepp, who took the step we were all trying to avoid…

An example for all.
As evening fell, the Jaguars fired up in the cul de sac for the quick run to our final appointment with dessert at the
unbelievable transformation of the homey, quiet and elegant digs of Knick & Dame Lynn's re-model in Bluff View for petit cakes and strawberry's. All the while, the record turnout of members had imbibed the
Club's entire month's ration of merlot and pinot grigio,
Another record!
Needless to say, the Mini-Rallye was not without controversy, due to some suspicious
Mapsco map doctoring-a very professional job, however. And the companion quiz on Jaguar nostalgia items also created a formal protest, discussion and compromise by a senior member who backed down the originator on one issue and compromised on another, with yours truly winning the honors.
The record setting dinner evening was brought to a close with the members heading for their Jaguars, clutching very tasty door prizes of home grown beefsteak tomatoes and Vidalia onions to remember another JOASW event and fun in the fellowship of Jaguar!
Thanks to the Heber's, Smith's and Curtis/Armstrong's for their outstanding dedication, effort, caring and JOASW hospitality. You are a treasure to the Club!
WELL DONE….HEAR HEAR….WHEN'S THE NEXT ONE?
Respectfully submitted,
